Tools you need

Free download manager is simply best

I have tested several download manager. I found free download manager simple, powerful and comfortable. It simply resume download  if we change download link to another server. download can be controlled from remote. and simply you can download files directly  from your ftp of your site and much more!

However still I need some feature I couldn’t find them at any download manager. So I wrote a email for Free Download manager to add that. Hopefully we see it soon :)   here is my email and requested feature to them.

Hello there,

I love free download manager. but I need new feature that I couldn’t find at any existing download manager.

Problem:
Let  say I am downloading 10 files. If my download speed is 2000K and I have set download limit to 1000K. then 1000K will be total download speed limit and 1000K for browsing the internet. then FDM will download each file with  100K speed ( 1000k/10files=100K).

I like always download first file with maximum speed ( let say 991K) and download rest of the files in the list with minimum speed ( let say 1K).

To achieve above I should manually set download speed for each files.let say first file at 991k download speed and rest of the files at 1k download speed. Then I need keep an eye at first file that is currently  downloading and check is downloading of first file finished or not. if it is finished, then I should change download speed of second file to maximum and so on.

********************************
**solution:**

*It would be great if there was another option in menu with name “smart download” that change the way download manager downloads files. when I select “smart download”. all files should downloads at 1K or less to maintain or keeping alive the download links. but only and always download speed for first file on top of the list should be maximum download speed almost close to general download limit speed.

*for example: if I am downloading 10 files and my download limit speed is set to 1000K. Then only first file should always downloads at 991K. and download speed of rest of the files should be only 1k. when download of first file is finished. download speed of second file should automatically change to maximum speed and so son.

********************************************
**Why above feature is useful?**

*It keep all links live and prevent broken download.

*It save time and energy to do this manually and no longer need keep an eye and change download speed limit for each file in the list.

*we will see file on top of the list are downloaded every time we look to FDM and no need to wait  to finish all downloads.

*During day time I can download needed files fast and use it right after that.

*Every time I look to downloaded list. I will see top files in the list are downloaded.

*I no need to wait all parallel download to finish.

* I think this really improve life and save time and give more joy and energy to focus on other tasks.

***************************************************
Request two: It would be great if I can set or change total download limit via command line. because my download PC is different from the PC I use. and they use same internet connection. this way I can easily change total download speed from other PC at network. maybe FDM already have this feature and I don’t know that

Thank you again and have a great time rest of your day.
Andy Depp.
